The seminar discusses two-photon excited fluorescence scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (TPEF-SLO) and spectral phasor analysis. Together, these methods can help locate natural and disease-related fluorophores in the retina. The talk asks whether phasor analysis may provide new retinal biomarkers and bring more accurate diagnosis closer to clinical use.
About the speaker
Dr Piotr Kasprzycki is a researcher in the Physical Optics and Biophotonics Group at ICTER, led by Prof. Maciej Wojtkowski. He joined the group in 2019 after earning his PhD in physics at the University of Warsaw, where he specialised in time-correlated single-photon counting. He previously worked at the University of Oregon and in industry at Fluence Technology. His current work focuses on in vivo fluorescence imaging, including TPEF-SLO, optical coherence tomography techniques and optical coherence elastography.
