Siatk\u00f3wka ma dobrze zdefiniowane wej\u015bcia (fotoreceptory) i wyj\u015bcia (w\u0142\u00f3kna nerwowe \u0142\u0105cz\u0105ce oko z m\u00f3zgiem), a obwody neuronalne w jej strukturze s\u0105 dobrze poznane. Dzi\u0119ki temu mo\u017cliwe jest monitorowanie aktywno\u015bci neuron\u00f3w w odpowiedzi na stymulacj\u0119 fotoreceptor\u00f3w, a metody optyczne pozwalaj\u0105 na ich obserwacj\u0119.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Celem projektu jest opracowanie metod, kt\u00f3re pozwol\u0105 na nieinwazyjne odczytywanie stanu funkcjonalnego obwod\u00f3w neuronalnych siatk\u00f3wki, zar\u00f3wno w zakresie wej\u015b\u0107, jak i wyj\u015b\u0107. Badania te mog\u0105 otworzy\u0107 drog\u0119 do rozwoju interfejsu m\u00f3zg-komputer, kt\u00f3ry wykorzysta biologiczne systemy obliczeniowe, stworzone przez miliony lat ewolucji, do realizacji oblicze\u0144.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chcieliby\u015bmy odpowiedzie\u0107 na kluczowe pytanie: czy mo\u017cliwe jest uzyskanie informacji o stanie funkcjonalnym neuron\u00f3w siatk\u00f3wki przy u\u017cyciu metod optycznych? Je\u015bli tak, to mogliby\u015bmy wykorzysta\u0107 biologiczne sieci neuronowe w ludzkim ciele do wykonywania oblicze\u0144 i wnioskowa\u0144, co pozwoli\u0142oby na stworzenie bardziej efektywnych system\u00f3w obliczeniowych.
