How to reach hidden contrast in volumetric imaging

  • Speaker: PhD Karol Karnowski

The scattering contrast probed by volumetric imaging technique – optical coherence tomography (OCT) – is typically insufficient to clearly differentiate between tissue types (e. g., malignant vs. healthy). One can expand the OCT method and by either hardware of software changes unleash the hidden oontrast. In this talk I will present my perspective on the oontrast enhancement topic. I will discuss fundamental advantages, limitations and remaining challenges of selected techniques and based on this identify the application areas of each method. Throughout the talk I will present experimental results oovering imaging of mouse brain, human skin, animal and human eyes, or malignant tissue samples
