To provide more personalized treatment, human physiology models are becoming more and more complex and the amount of data is increasing considerably, therefore, advanced methods of modelling and data analysis are necessary. Since 2000 DICE Team (lilp has been involved in the research focused on problem- solving environments and decision support systems on distributed computing infrastructures for medicine The main partners were the University of Sheffield, University of Amsterdam, Juelichemical Supercomputing Centre, LMU and Leibniz Supercomputing Centre in Munich. As a result of successful scientific collaboration a new scientific unit Sano Centre for Computational Personalized Medicine – International Researchemical Foundatioo was established in 2019, in Krakow (!:!!!,_ Sano Centre is a new non-profit, autonomic research institute dedicated lo advancement of computational medicine, development of computer methods for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease, meet the worldwide need for efficient, effective and streamlined healthcare. Six Sano research teams cover such in-silica medicine areas as modelling and simulation, data science, artificial intelligence and machine learning methods, image processing, IT methods in medicine, large- scale computing, and decision-making support systems. This research will result in the development of tools supporting doctors in diagnostic and treatment processes. It is extremely valuable from the point of view of an individual patient and will reduce the costs of treatments. Modem computer technologies developed in Sano may also be used in pharmaceutical and biotechnology laboratories. Acknowledgements. Marian Bubak is the Scientific Affairs Director of the Sano Centre for Computational Medicine and leads the laboratory of Information Methods in Medicine attheACC Cyfronet AGH, he is also the Professor of Distributed System Engineering (emeritus) at the Informatics Institute University of Amsterdam. He obtained M. Sc. in Technical Physic& and Ph. D. in Computer Science from the AGH University of Science and Technology, Krakow, Poland
