? Warsaw, Poland | Hybrid (3 days on-site / 2 days remote)
? Full-time (employment contract – UoP)
? Working languages: Polish & English
? Gross salary: 5,000 PLN
Why this role exists?
At ICTER, we work on technologies that change how people see the world. Literally. As a Junior Content Marketing Specialist, you will help ensure that verified, reliable information about our research, people, and activities reaches the right audience. Clearly. Engagingly. With care.
This role sits at the intersection of writing, science, and digital communication. You will help translate complex research into accessible stories, maintain a strong online presence, and support both internal and external communication in a research-driven environment.
This is a junior position. You don’t need to know everything on day one. What matters most is excellent writing. You genuinely love to write, and you know online writing is about lean, reader-first clarity, not fancy words. Next is learning speed – you pick up feedback quickly and grow fast in new tools and workflows. The role can be structured flexibly, making it possible to combine with ongoing studies while maintaining clear responsibilities and expectations.
What you’ll do?
Create and publish content
You will write, edit, and publish content in English, and occasionally in Polish, across ICTER’s main communication channels:
- News items, articles, and updates for our website and subpages.
- Social media content (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, BlueSky, X, YouTube, TikTok).
- Internal and external newsletters.
- Content proposals for promotional materials and reports (e.g. brochures, leaflets).
- Articles and how-to guides for the internal knowledge base (wiki).
Much of your work will involve taking raw or technical input – notes, drafts, research summaries – and shaping it into clear, audience-friendly communication.
Turn science into stories people understand
- Translate complex or technical research information into language that non-experts can follow and enjoy.
- Adapt the same message into different formats depending on the channel and context.
- Ensure all published content is accurate, verified, and appropriate for its audience.
Support ICTER’s social media presence
- Plan, publish, and maintain content across social platforms.
- Actively follow and join relevant online conversations (in Polish and English) related to vision science, ophthalmology, optics, and innovation.
- Engage with posts by ICTER employees, partners, and collaborators.
- Moderate comments and messages in line with internal guidelines (during working hours, no 24/7 on-call).
- Audit and improve profiles with support from the Communication team.
Assist with media publications
- Support media relations by helping build and maintain contact with journalists and media outlets.
- Prepare and pitch press communications and materials under guidance.
- Monitor media coverage and prepare summaries and reports.
Plan, organize, and improve how we work
- Support editorial planning, calendars, and coordination across multiple content streams.
- Prepare basic reports and analyses (e.g. content performance, media monitoring).
- Conduct interviews that bring out interesting insights from researchers and colleagues.
- Contribute to other communication-related tasks and projects that support ICTER’s mission.
About you
You care deeply about how ideas are expressed and understood. Writing is not just something you do – it is a craft you actively refine. You enjoy shaping raw or technical input into clear, readable, and engaging communication that respects both the subject matter and the audience.
Specifically, you bring:
- A genuine love of writing and a feel for language and nuance, in both Polish and English.
- The ability to take a rough draft and elevate it significantly – improving structure, clarity, and impact.
- Openness to learning new skills, tools, and workflows.
- Strong organization skills and comfort working with editorial plans, calendars, deadlines, and multiple content streams.
- A preference for autonomy and responsibility, paired with good judgment about when to ask for input or escalate.
- An understanding of digital and social media dynamics and how platforms differ in tone and format.
- Critical thinking about sources, evidence, and credibility.
- Care and attentiveness, especially when handling internal or confidential information.
- A good sense of aesthetics and presentation (layout, visuals, formatting).
Education background
People who typically ramp up fastest in this role have a degree in Journalism, Communication, Media, Public Relations or related digital fields such as Content Marketing, Digital Marketing, Information Architecture, New Media, Brand Communication, or similar disciplines.
You don’t need to know every tool we use on day one. Curiosity, learning agility, and attention to quality matter more.
Who you’ll work with?
You will report directly to the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) and collaborate closely with the Communication team, researchers, project teams, and administrative staff.
You will be supported by an experienced manager who brings structure, clarity, and thoughtful feedback. If you’re interested in how leadership and mentorship work in practice, see the “Your manager and leadership support” section above.
What we offer?
- Mentorship with high standards (and real support)
You’ll work closely with an experienced communications leader and former business owner who brings clarity, structure, and thoughtful feedback – so you improve fast without being left alone with ambiguity.
- Work that matters from day one
Your content will directly shape how ICTER’s research and activities are understood – internally and externally. This is not “just posting.” It is responsible science communication with visible impact.
- Time flexibility with full-time stability
This is a full-time role with flexible working hours, allowing you to balance your schedule with studies or other commitments. The focus is on results and reliability rather than fixed hours.
- A research environment that values accuracy and craft
You’ll collaborate with scientists and specialists who care about evidence, precision, and clear thinking, while still aiming to make content genuinely engaging.
- Growth built into the job
Courses, job shadowing, and learning-by-doing. As you develop, you’ll take on more complex stories, bigger campaigns, and greater ownership of channels and processes.
- Stable employment and transparent conditions
Full-time employment contract (UoP), with remuneration commensurate with experience.
- Hybrid work model with flexibility
Warsaw-based hybrid setup: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote, with a task-oriented approach to getting work done.
- Private medical care
- A supportive team culture
A respectful, collaborative atmosphere where questions are welcome, feedback is normal, and the goal is high-quality work, not unnecessary pressure.
